Research Interests:
The use of imaging in radiation therapy remains one of my key research interests. I served as the PI and completed in 2003 a clinical study on the treatment uncertainties associated with target delineation, patient positioning and the variations in the shape and location of internal organs with repeated CT scans during the course of radiotherapy. The incorporation of MRSI for prostate treatment is one of my on-going projects.

Developing and transferring new treatment planning and delivery techniques in radiation therapy into clinical practice is one of my key research interests. I am continuing the research on intensity modulated arc therapy, or IMAT, which I invented in 1995. We are working on applying IMAT to stereotactic radiosurgery for both intra- and extra-cranial tumors.
